Ife Osunkoya

Cycle ①
2026

ADP: Hey Ife, what art world advice would you give to your younger self?

IO: The first things I'll tell myself is that I don't need anyone's permission to do things. I remember watching a video and one of the things it talked about was that almost everything you see in the world around you arent just there automatically, the put the was created by people, people like you and me. You know, that you can poke and prod the universe as a conscious being and shape the world in the way you didn't fit. You dont accept what the universe gives you like that, you can actually negotiate with it. As a young artist, I will tell myself to be more conscious of that. Also, this is something I'm constantly learning, I should learn how to know how to reach out to people who dont know me when I have issues or run my ideas by them. I could be a very “one man” artist and its something I’m constantly unlearning because I'm not very great at asking for hel. But really, you can't do things alone.
