ADP: Hey Loui, what art world advice would you give to your younger self?
LT: Go deeper into your own voice and do not fear being selfish by going after your own dreams instead of always playing support in other people's endeavours.
Biography
Loui Terrier is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose practice spans abstraction, portraiture, still life, and other forms. His work explores Indigenous mythology alongside obscure esoteric themes, creating a visual language that is both contemplative and deeply symbolic.
As a producer, Loui’s credits include Leaving Isiolo, I Did, and Kids Don’t Die. Before co-founding Wasafiri, he established the Filmette Film Festival, an annual event dedicated to mid-length films running between 30 and 60 minutes.
The festival provided a platform for narrative and creative projects that exist beyond the conventional boundaries of short films and feature-length cinema.
